Yes we have rules, like every other site that functions well, so you will be asked to respect them and follow at the very best of your abilities.
We will NOT delete your account on your first infraction, you will get a warning. Then another, and when you get to your third warning, we will add 3 days suspension worth for each infraction you do. When you get to your 7th infraction, then you will be permanently deleted. Your IP number will be blocked for one month, and after that unblocked. If you feel like you will be better than you may join again. Or else, you will never be allowed back.
The General Rules
• Please follow the Proboards TOS rules on proboards. If you don't they can shut down the board, and we don't want that happening now do we?
• Please DO NOT steal any of our content or ideas! If you would like to use one of our ideas, please notify an admin, so that we know (though we are allowed to say no), and PLEASE give us credit for it. We have worked EXTREMELY hard on this site!
• The Staff here has worked really hard to make this site work well, so please respect all of the admin. If they tell you do something, simply do it without arguing, OK?
•The secret word is alohomora
• your display name must be your character's name. We don't want to see that your name is trio321 or something, You may wait until you are accepted to change your name, but please don't wait too long.
•. SO maybe not everyone's first language is English, but the is one little button there that says, 'Spell Check' and it checks your spelling. Please use it, I think you'd rather read, "She entered the room and sat down on the comfy red armchair" rather than, "Sh entterd da romm and sta down on te conmfy reed chaiirr."
•You can swear, but seriously don't go overboard! I don't want every five words out of your character's mouth to be fxck or anything near it!
•You can have a maximum of 6 characters, tops! In these 6 characters, you may only have 2 canon characters, as long as they are not in the same year, house or gender (yes, gender,to be fair), 1 teacher, and the rest must be original students, these last 3 can be in ANY house, and could be anything. If you want, you can have 5 original students, or 1 canon, 4 original students, or anything, as long as it's no more than 6 characters, and no more from the list above, thank you!
The Role-paying Rules
•Always Role-Play at the third person and in the past. If you need an example, read Harry Potter! It is the perfect example.
Good example:
Harry entered the common room, tired from his day.
Bad example: I entered the common room because my day was so tiring.
•Try to use a celebrity that looks like they could actually be a student if your character is a student. If you want to choose a celebrity that is kind of old-looking, then find pictures from them when they were young! I don't think that a picture of Julie Andrews (no offense if she is reading this!) now would be able to fit as a student. An adult maybe, but not a student.
•Since this site is more intermediate than anything else, (though if your a begging or advanced than it's fine) Please try your best to write at the very least 2 paragraphs per post. If your in the tower at night, explain how bright the sky is, what your character sees, what happened in their day, etc. Be creative!
•the second word is the answer to this question: Who made the prophecy concerning Harry & Voldemort?
•No God-Modding. All sites are banning this, and we are too. For those of you who don't know, God-Modding is when your character is invincible. They cannot dodge 10 spells in a row. At least get hit a few times! IF you still don't understand, then I shall give you an example.
God-modding is:
Harry shot a spell flying at Malfoy, who dodged it because he knew it was coming. So Harry tried again, concentrating hard to get him. Malfoy dodged again and laughed. He turned around, his back now facing Harry and started to walk away, knowing that Potter wouldn't dare try to hit him. Harry, who was angry by now, tried a non-verbal spell. Draco merely stepped aside and with a yawn left the room.
-Do you see how annoying it is if you were Harry RPing with someone like Draco? Wouldn't you get annoyed? What DRACO is doing is God-Modding
•Try to keep the Autoing low OK? Autoing is when you take control of the other person's character. Yes the Imperius curse exists, but you must have the other Role-Players permission to do it, and they must agree to what you shall make their character do. NO permission means NO Imperius Curse!
•Do not use an Anime character name. If you do, we might let it go IF you use your own history for your character, and not the one used in the anime character's plot from the Anime show of whatever.
•Drugs and Sex are allowed please warn us so that if we don't want to see it we don't have to. You can or put R in your title or you can PM an admin and we can create a password protected board for you if you want it to be private. Also, There are not many drugs in the Wizarding world, so
a) don't invent some for the pleasure of it and just to drink
b) don't overdo it, seriously!
c) If your character is Muggleborn then MAYBE they may have muggle drugs on them, but if a teacher catches them in RP, then you may lose points for your house and lose a character privilege, such as Prefect, being a member of the Quidditch team, etc.
•In RP, if a teacher says they will take off points, they may or may not choose to do for real. OK, so a student is not perfect, we understand, so maybe for the fun of the RP, you may agree for the teacher to actually take points off, or you may not. Try to discuss it with the teacher before actually RPing. Tell them that your character is just fooling around and that you don't mean it for real and they might let you slip. But if you don't communicate with them, then they might decided to literally take the points off.
The Signature/Avatars Rules
•Your avatars must not be bigger than 100x100
•No nudity, porn or anything too sexual in your signatures. If your are not sure whether yours is good or not, then PM an admin and we will tell you yes or no
•Underline the second secret person and put the first word in blue
•Please try your best to obtain a Signature and/or avatar. Just so that other member have an idea of what your character looks like
•You can have Signatures as big as you want, as long as they do not stretch the page. That goes for links too.
•If you can't do a signature or you don't have one, then you may request one from the Graphics board, like from someone's shop or something. You may ask for graphics for another site, BUT if the graphics maker says they will not make some for other sites, then end of story. Do not even ask them.
